Meet The Directors

Dave Fish
Head Coach, Men's Tennis
Harvard University

Co-Director, Junior Camps
Director, Adult Programs

As Dave Fish, Men's Head Tennis coach closes in on his 36th year at Harvard, he is committed to changing the face of American tennis by helping it become "The Sport of Opportunity." He has been instrumental in incorporating what he believes to be the best and easiest to learn teaching system in the world (www.tennissmith.com) into TAH's methodology. Tennissmith employs a "word-picture" method, which makes it both easy to understand, and equally easy to remember for all ages, not only giving greater continuity of instruction to TAH campers, but also enabling TAH to train its instructors on-line before the summer (and continuing through the summer).
During his five-decade career, Dave has coached such well-known tennis stars as James Blake, Tim Mayotte, Jonathan Chu (Hong Kong Davis Cup team), and John Doran (Irish Davis Cup team). Dave has had his teams qualify for the NCAA championships 18 times since 1981. His players have earned All-American honors in singles and doubles competition on 22 occasions. He has also sent players to the NCAA individual championships 22 times over the past 27 years. Named Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Coach of the Year in 1993, 1998, and 2008 and the USTA New England Coach of the Year in 2001. Coach Fish was recently recognized for service to recreational tennis in New England by receiving the 2009 ITA Campus Recognition Award (USTA New England Section).

Traci Green
Head Coach, Women's Tennis
Harvard University

Co-Director, Junior Camps

Traci is in her fifth year at Harvard as head coach of Women's Tennis. She led her team to its 18th Ivy League Championship in 2009. Prior to leading the Crimson, she served as head coach at Temple University where she helped build a winning program and guided the Owls to their first national ranking (#85) in 2007. Traci was a member of the University of Florida 1998 NCAA championship team and a two-time member of the Junior National team. Traci was a three-time, first-team, all-SEC conference selection in singles and doubles and still tops the Florida record books in career wins.
Traci is on the Advisory Board of the Black Women in Sport Foundation and is active with the USTA High Performance Coaching Program. She had extensive camp teaching experience in Philadelphia before coming to Harvard.

Steve has also trained coaches and players that have reached a very high level in tennis. Some of the players he has trained have won the tournament at Kalamazoo, been number one in the nation in the 18s, won the NCAA championships, and have played in the Grand Slams.

We are committed to our staff training beyond orientation. In addition, there is continuous training of our staff by Coach Dave Fish and Coach Traci Green. The Director of Tennis also works closely with each staff member, providing constant feedback on how to be a better teacher, worker, and professional.
