There's really nothing like this age group for high energy
and enthusiasm. There are team competitions throughout the week
that feature posters, banners, group cheers, and face-painting.
Underlying all of this, of course, you’ll find the same bedrock
on which all of The Tennis Academy is built – sound stroke
production, movement training, tactical and strategic
development, supplemented by work with the Harvard Strength and
Conditioning coaches, as well as sessions with an expert in the
field of performance enhancement.
We incorporate many elements of the USTA 10-and-Under Tennis
initiative where appropriate. This is a comprehensive program focusing on
making tennis for kids fun, where the court size, net height,
ball speed and weight, length of racket and scoring all relate
to their various ages. We want to equip them with the
soundest foundation possible, one that will let them reach their
fullest potential should they want to continue to develop as
tennis players and athletes. In addition, we use Steve
Smith's method of teaching technically applied stroke
development and learning.
